Philosophers Justin Walker and Pratik Shah are intellectual bodyguards. Traditional bodyguards protect their clients from physical threats. Justin and Pratik protect their clients from intellectual threats.
A physical threat is usually in the moment and easy to identify. An intellectual threat may take months, years, or even decades to fully be made manifest. The source of a physical threat is readily apparent, and the victim understands that his well-being is in jeopardy. An intellectual threat is presented under the guise of moral legitimacy, and the victim willingly embraces ideas that undermine his well-being. A physical threat must be repelled through superior force. An intellectual threat must be repelled by superior ideas.
Justin and Pratik protect their clients by identifying and then exposing the fundamental premises underlying an intellectual threat. They defend the freedom of each individual to live as he chooses, so long as he respects the freedom of others to do the same. And they do so on both moral and practical grounds.
