Dissatisfied with government schools, parents across Texas demand more education options for their children. Spurred on by the governor, Republican state legislators introduce bills to establish education savings accounts for each student in the state. However, Democrats, Republicans representing rural districts, and teachers’ unions oppose any policy or program that they believe will undermine government schools. Education savings accounts, they argue, will decimate the underfunded government schools by subsidizing private schools. What ensues is a rancorous debate over education policy. The intellectual bodyguards at Justice Inc enter the debate, declaring that fundamentally, a child’s education is a matter of choice—the parent’s choice. A Matter of Choice is available on Amazon.
